The Journal of Media Psychology (JMP, ISSN 1864-1105)[1] is a quarterly psychology journal published by Hogrefe [2]. The journal builds up on 20 years of tradition and experience in publishing high-quality research in the Zeitschrift für Medienpsychologie (ZMP)[3] which was founded in 1989. While ZMP focused on German and European media research, JMP has since 2008 taken up the challenges of the more globalizing media world by offering an international publication platform since 2008. The current editor in chief is Gary Bente[4] (Cologne University).
JMP is committed to publishing original, high-quality papers which cover the broad range of media psychological research, including various media, applications, and user groups. The journal is also open to research from neighbouring disciplines as far as this work ties in with psychological concepts of the uses and effects of the media.
